Andy Warhol in Dubln!

How exciting is this!
There is a really little small gallery in Dublin not far from me that has scored a real coup and has some of the most wonderful well known contemporary art on show for literally just two weeks!
Andy Warhol, Banksy, Basquiat, and Bambi and others.
I was really excited to hear about this a couple of months ago and marked it in my diary as a must do.

How beautiful is this Warhol

Oh just a few amazing Banksy's...in little ol' Dublin!!!!

This is "interesting".  It's a limited edition (67/300) print of a Basquiat original.  The original is painted on slats of wood - if you look closely you can see the lines of the wood going through the picture.  For me part of the vibrance of the original is the fact it's painted on wood and is almost 3d because of that.  This piece/the print feels flat in comparison.

The price however is not flat! €67,000 if you're asking!

I had not heard of Bambi before.  I like their work a lot!

It was a really enjoyable gallery visit, and I'll definitely be back.  The art is amazing and also, again just the whole thing about these world famous artists being in the basement gallery in an old Georgian building in Dublin all just feels very surreal and little bit special.

One week left!  Go!!

What I've been up to

Reading...
My mother gave me this book. And my God I could kill her!  If you know me you will know that I don't do horror films or ghost stories etc.  I have learnt from experience that the effect on me for weeks (and months!!) afterwards is just not worth it.  Even now (15/20 years later??) the thought of the Sixth Sense still freaks me out!
So there I am reading this book which mam has personally recommended when it turns really really weird...a horror basically.  At 10.30pm at night! Just when I will be going asleep #funtimes!

How cute is this photo!  This is from Sunday night, near Stephen's Green.  I had my umbrella, and while I was still cold and kind of miserable it made me feel alive out walking in weather like this!
And this little girl splashing in her wellies with her mother made me smile :-)

My latest snack food is wasabi peanuts.  I figured they were so hot I wouldn't be able to eat many of them.  Turns out that is not a problem for me (I do like very hot curries btw!), the steam is practically coming out my ears and nostrils and I am loving it and still eating more and more!

International Women's Day 2017

I arrived into work yesterday to a flower on my keyboard from one of my German colleagues.  How sweet was that.
A great way to start the day I can tell you!

I had wanted to get up to O'Connell Street on my lunch break to support the Strike for Repeal protest.  Unfortunately I had meetings booked practically right through.  In fact when I came into work I noted that literally my last spare half hour without a meeting had been booked up overnight.  So I couldn't go...but, considering the attendance and the photos from the event it was a huge turnout so my one little no show did not impact!  I did however wear black as requested to show my support for the Repeal the 8th Amendment agenda (something I think you know I am passionate about).

And then later that day we had ice-cream in work!
It was a pretty good Women's Day all in.

Starbucks rocks :-)

Today at lunch I met Mam and Enid in my local Starbucks.  When I arrived in the two of them were laughing and laughing.  Below is a status update from Enid's facebook which tells you what had happened to make them laugh.

How hilarious is this!

Oh and I got a free coffee too!
