Ok, so first of all please ignore the photo that has listed itself into the incorrect place above 🙄
Yesterday, ahead of the storm, and bearing in mind it is late September we went our for our last trolling of this season.
I have to tell you! Trolling is tough!! It's out in the deep - we were at 450 feet. A lot of just waiting and watching while driving and keeping the boat at a certain speed and in a specific direction.
After 2.5 hours and absolute zilch we started heading in the direction of home but continuing the trolling at the same time. Boom! At 180feet, we got our reward, a big massive mahi mahi hit. We started reeling in fast and hard, tight lines are essential or you risk losing the fish. Boy did it fight, it jumped in the air 8 times in front of us. But between us we landed it on board. What a thrill!!
Brought it home and cooked it up for supper with a nice seaweed salad side. Less said about the accompanying wine the better....for such a nice fish Patrick ran out to get a bottle of prosecco and by accident came back with a sparkling white wine - a sweet one!! A dessert wine maybe??! Too sweet in any case! But nothing could ruin that nice dinner! The mahi mahi was amazing 👏

Not sure if I have ever posted here about our dishwasher??? Probably not. No point in mincing word it looked like a POS. But it worked!!! So while it looked really bad I was loathe to throw it out...the environment and all that.
Anyhow! On with the story. Something that was broken was our fridge. It was not holding the "cold" plus it occasionally leaked. So when we saw a nice fridge at a good price in Home Depot we jumped on it. We did consider at that point replacing the dishwasher too i.e. getting a bundle. But read back to the first paragraph for my thoughts on that. So we just got the fridge.
Then! About two weeks after purchasing the fridge our new neighbours from across the street offered us a dishwasher!!

My sister visited for a day (via cruise ship)
Prior to her arrival, I joked with her that we were going to have #theperfectday....well, guess what!
- Picked her up in the jeep with no doors which she thought was great fun!
- out on the boat for a few hours in the morning
- washed the salt from the ocean off in the pool
- drank rum and fresh coconut
- Caroline's on Duval for lunch (conch fritters, tuna ahi, peel & eat shrimp, mahi mahi fingers)
- Effusion Gallery: to see Ciaran's art
- pottered around near the Custom House museum area
- and then time for her to go!
Really was quite perfect :)
