As you can see from the photos, the hotel we stayed in was simply beautiful. And as for our stunning room, sigh. Pity it was haunted though.....

A music and drinking town
We had a lot of fun in Nashville and stayed out/up much longer/later than we normally do. That being said we did find Broadway a tad noisy and too wild for us. The best day was when we went out during the day (read morning!!!). We had a glass of bubbly with breakfast (sure why not, weren't we on our holidays) and then set off downtown. We ended up in a fun self styled dive bar called Paradise Park with a fun band playing to just us and a few other customers. Sitting there, relaxing, listening to country music and having a few drinks was just a really nice way to while away the time.
A quick drink in The Flying Saucer beside our hotel and then an afternoon nap set us for the evening (of our nice Chinese meal out)
Nashville fudz
We ate loooooooads in Nashville and it was all awesome!
In no particular order:
Superb breakfasts in the hotel. I got a Tennessee sausage omelette everyday. Patrick started with a full breakfast on day 1, but agreed his taste of my omelette was the best. On day 2 he got an egg and sausage breakfast croissant which we split in half and I gave him half of my omelette. On the last day, he ordered himself the omelette! Lol
Nashville hot chicken. We went to Hattie B's on Broadway. Yes it is touristy, but wow it was amazing. We got a breast and thigh of chicken on the bone. Heat wise we went medium. And three sides: mac and cheese, collard greens and cheesy bacon grits. We went full out Southern and it was a success!
Lamb burger: Before the football match on Wednesday evening we split an incredible lamb burger. Massive thumbs up. If I was to pick a favourite, out of the whole trip, I think this would be it.
Last night/nice dinner out: We went for Dim Sum in a fancy Chinese restaurant and each one was better than the next.
All in all, I can definitely say that Nashville is an eating and drinking (see next blog) town!
Oz - houseguest
We had a little houseguest staying with us for a few days. After an initial shitshow of a couple of hours he settled in and was a little darling for the whole stay.
He has had an "unsettled" past life and can be anxious and needy and I think that is why he enjoyed his little vacation with us - no other dogs, no children, just two adults who gave him all the attention that he needs.
He LOVED going for walks with Patrick. Couldn't get out the door quick enough and then enthusiastically ran along beside him - his little legs going like the clappers to keep up with Patrick's strides. And he equally LOVED car rides! He stood up on my lap and stuck his head out the window, with a big smile on his face, enjoying the air. And then turning and giving out to Patrick when he was stopped at traffic lights lol! "Yeah, I know buddy, but it's a red light, I have to stop".
He was a fantastic little eater. And sleeping....the one we were worried about. We had him in another room in his crate and he was barking and crying so eventually we brought him into our room, still in the crate, and put him beside the bed. Three nights in a row he slept solidly like this so look, it wasn't the worst thing in the world, even though we definitely had not planned on doing this.
He is back with his foster mom right now and hopefully his real mom will be in better shape to have him back soon. He sure is quite the little character and I hope he gets the home he deserves soon.

She hooks 'em, he cooks them!
A great day out on the sea yesterday and then a great evening sharing our catch with Jean and Joe!
Look at this!!! Look at this pie
We hosted Isabelle for dinner on Friday evening. Nice evening - small steak, lobster tail, prosciutto wrapped asparagus and for dessert, of course, Key Lime Pie. Change of pie from Publix though! We had the pie from the Key Lime Pie which while baked and cheesecakey was still light - like a soufle. And very lime forward per Isabelle, very tart. Top marks from all of us.
We spent the evening in the pool just chatting and it was nice.
The next day she sent this pic of a key lime pie. Look at it!!
I'm not normally a fan of blue food. But my God this is stunning!
