Diet Day 8

BREAKFAST:
Rather than just the same picture of a bowl of porridge everyday, I thought you might like to see where I get it from in work.  Check out those greasy hash browns, sausages & *rashers.  Luckily I never got into the habbit of eating fried stuff every morning.

*rashers are what Irish people call bacon!

LUNCH:

My DIVINE tomato soup, chicken, sundried tomato & boiled egg.
I didn't eat all of the egg, chicken & tomato...
DINNER:
I forgot to take a photo :-(
Another serving of my DIVINE soup.  Salmon - poached in the microwave with lemon and cajun herbs. It was not nice.  It had been in the freezer for too long.  So it was a bit tough and had a weird flavour.

The diet is working!!!!!

Weigh-in this morning!

I have lost 6lbs!!!!

I am delighted.  And it has really spurred me on to keep going.

Diet Day 7

BREAKFAST:
Porridge

LUNCH:
I forgot to take a picture of today's lunch but essentially it was same as yesterday:
Remainder of the chicken from yesterday, low fat Tomato soup.

DINNER:
Soup that I made yesterday (tomato, butternut squash soup, garlic etc) which is DIVINE!
I am going to make a big batch of this weekend.

One poached egg on one slice of brown bread.  No salt.  Loads of pepper.

Tomato & Roast butternut squash soup

I am really trying to somehow get some good stuff into my body.
Unfortunately I don't eat any fruit or vegetables.
Soup is one way that I don't mind too much.

Check out my latest soup!

I peeled and chopped all the veg - butternut squash, red onion, carrot & garlic.
Light spray of oil (Fry Lite) and put them in the oven to roast.

While the veg roasted I put the tomatoes (tinned) on a low heat to cook down.

Added the veg to the tomatoes and cooked down some further.

After some blitzing!

The finished product.

There is a lot in this.  I am going to freeze some of it.

A Movie Star and a Prince!

I flicked on to a True Movie channel and happened across "Grace Kelly".
It is of course the story of Grace Kelly the 1950's actress who married the Prince of Monaco.

The part of the film I came in on just happened to the best part in my opinion.
It was the part where, on a trip to Cannes (soon after winning her Oscar for Country Girl), she was introduced to Prince Rainier of Monaco.

Oh my gosh it was very moving.  The film captured their love so well.  You could really see that theirs was mutual true love at first sight.

And that wedding dress. Incredible!
Kate Middleton obviously thought so too because as we all know, her wedding dress paid homage to Grace Kelly's beautiful dress.

Diet Day 6

BREAKFAST:
Porridge

Lunch:
Low fat tomato soup & cajun chicken (half - one of the sections pictured above)

DINNER:
Turkey from mam's house yesterday.  I put salt and lots of pepper on it.
Kind of chewy but meant it took longer to eat!

SNACK:
Still hungry after that turkey, I had some sweet potato and very tasty roast garlic!

Diet Day 5

Day 5!
(Sunday)

I have found the weekend hard.
I am looking forward to getting back to work tomorrow to 5 days of routine.

BREAKFAST:
Made today with half & half milk/water.  Might try it with even less milk next time.

DINNER:

No roast potatoes :-(

At least that was all on my plate until mam brought THIS out:

Turkey and stuffing divine!

SNACK:

I hope I can get through the evening without eating anything else today...
